The upcoming Memorial Day holiday isn’t just about having a great BBQ and getting the day off work – it’s about remembering those brave men and women who died while in active military service. It’s an important holiday to celebrate, and who better to celebrate it with than close friends and family? The patriotic folks at Glenns Freedom CDJR wanted me to tell you about the events in and around beautiful Lexington, Kentucky that you can go out and enjoy this Memorial Day weekend:
Equine Treasures of the Bluegrass
Located at the International Museum of the Horse, this “exhibit is the most comprehensive exhibition ever produced telling the fascinating story of the mystical bond between Kentuckians and their horses.” I took a look at this, and it’s definitely a day’s worth of information and enjoyment!
Round up your family, young and old, and enjoy this free Bluegrass concert! Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to 1152 Monarch Street in Lexington around 7:00 P.M., then get ready to relax and enjoy.
Arts and Crafts Show
You’ll have to make the drive down to Gilbertsville for this one, but it’s totally worth it: “This annual Memorial Day Weekend Show is located at the Old Beach Area and features handcrafted items by artists from Kentucky and neighboring states, while overlooking Kentucky Lake and its beautiful scenery.” I’m into checking this one out just because Kentucky Lake is truly one of the most scenic vistas in the state!
Kentucky Reggae Festival
There will be arts and crafts, flavorful Caribbean dishes and music! This is one of the most rocking festivals in town.
If you’ve been looking for something to do that allows you to celebrate while still honoring those who’ve fought for our freedom, you’ll love these Memorial Day events near Lexington that were hand-picked by Glenn’s Freedom CDJR! If you’re looking for a new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM truck to get you to the party on time, stop by today! They’d love to help you celebrate in style!
