Do You Smell That!? 3 Easy Ways to Get Rid of Car Odors – Lexington, KY

Field of DaisiesAt Glenn’s Freedom Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we know that your car is your baby, whether it’s a Dodge Journey SE, or a Jeep Compass Sport, and just like a baby you do your best to take care of it and keep it clean.  But cars get older, and sometimes you forget to throw out the fast food bags or leave your gym clothes in it for a few days (or weeks!) and all of a sudden, your baby doesn’t smell too nice! Fear not! We have some great tips and tricks to get the interior of your car smelling fresh as a daisy!

Make a personal car air freshener.
Find some felt and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. The best part of this is that it’s frugal! You can refresh it whenever you need to, so you’re cutting down on the waste from the packaging of cardboard air fresheners, and you don’t have to throw it out, so you’re keeping junk out of the landfills! Score!

Deep clean the cloth in your interior.
The number one thing you need to do is keep your vehicle clean, but even if you regularly take the trash out, the cloth seats and floor mats absorb odors and stains from various spills, pets, food…you name it! It doesn’t matter if you’re from Shelbyville, Bardstown, Somerset, Campbellsville, or Independence, if you don’t spend an afternoon at least once a month getting down to the nitty-gritty, the smells will linger.

Ban all food from your vehicle.
This is a hard one, we know. We here at Glenn’s Freedom CDJR have been guilty of eating on the go, or even just running out to our car to grab a quick taco.  This is where all those stains and smells come from. We admit that we’re not the cleanest of eaters, and crumbs happen.

From Lawrenceburg, Frankfort, Danville, or Berea, we know that it doesn’t matter where you’re driving from – spills happen, snacks in the car happen, and old gym socks happen.  We here at Glenn’s Freedom CDJR are guilty of all of these, but we’re also really into that new car smell! So grab a vacuum and start deep cleaning today: a fresher smelling car awaits!
